‘President needs to carry APC members along,’ Okorocha says

Okorocha also said that Buhari needs to carry APC members along in his administration of the country.

Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha shakes President Muhammadu Buhari

Okorocha also said that Buhari needs to carry members of the party along in his administration of the country.

The governor made the comments on Sunday, October 16, while speaking to journalists in Abuja.

“If there is a clarion call for Mr President to take a look at his cabinet and bring in more people, there is nothing wrong for Mr President to take note of comments by people because if everyone keeps saying the same thing, there may be sense in what they’re saying. But that’s not really the situation that would create a big hullabaloo,” he said.‎

“Most people of the party felt that they have not been carried along. I know that many of them complain every day. They want board appointments released so that there will be calm.

“The people from the southeast said they have not been appointed; the people from the northeast and even from the northwest where Mr. President comes from said they have not been appointed; some local governments and villages are saying they have not been remembered.

“So, at what point do we draw this line? But there is always room for amendment because there is no perfection,” he added.

Okorocha also earlier said that recent controversial comments made by Buhari and his wife have been taken out of context.

Mrs Aisha Buhari said, during an interview with BBC, that her husband’s government had been hijacked by a cabal and that she wouldn’t support him in 2019 if the situation doesn’t change.

Buhari, on the other hand, dismissed his wife’s comments saying that she belongs in the kitchen and knows nothing about politics.
