President's wife donates food items to 'broke' APC

The party's national chairman, John Oyegun recently said that the was APC was broke and "suffering the strains of funding."

 

Wife of the president, Aisha Buhari on Tuesday, June 14, 2016 donated food items to members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.

A chieftain of the party, Nasiru Dano, who represented Mrs Buhari at the event stated that the move was part of her nationwide distribution of food items.

Dano who did not say the total amount of items donated however stated that "the items are in their hundreds and it is expected to be shared among  party members in the FCT."

The party's national chairman, John Oyegun who took delivery of the items expressed his appreciation to Mrs Buhari.

Items donated include rice, sugar, milk and beverages.

Pulse recalls that Oyegun stated at an interactive session with journalists at the APC secretariat that the was APC was broke and "suffering the strains of funding."

He noted that the APC does not plan to involve President Muhammadu Buhari, saying "it is not part of his national assignment."

Meanwhile, some parents of the missing Chibok girls have said that they are yet to receive the money donated to themby Aisha Buhari.

In May 2016, Mrs Buhari, donated the sum of N30 million to the Chibok parents and N25 million to the parents of the Buni Yadi schoolboys, who were killed in a 2015 explosion.
