PDP alleges assassination plot against Fayose

Wife of the President, Aisha Buhari who took to Twitter on Tuesday evening described Governor Ayodele Fayose as an "Unchained Mad Dog."

Nigeria's major opposition party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has said that the wife of the President, Aisha Buhari may assassinate Governor Ayo Fayose of Ekiti state.

Governor Fayose in a statement signed by his chief press secretary, Idowu Adelusi alleged that Mrs Buhari was indicted in the Halliburton scandal.

Reacting to Fayose's claim, the presidency and former Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ibrahim Lamordedismissed reports that the President's wife participated in the bribery scandal involving the United States Congressman, Williams Jefferson.

The argument took a dramatic turn when Mrs Buhari took to Twitter describing the governor as an "" The tweets were deleted about two hours later.

In a reaction, the PDP through its official Twitter handle (@PdpNigeria) said: "Governor Fayose may have to take extra security measures to prevent Aisha Buhari or the 1st family from assassinating him."

Meanwhile, the PDPelders forum in Ekiti state has slammed the Federal Government for allegedly intimidating and harassing the governor.
