The House of Representatives have ordered the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to arrest and prosecute Abdulrasheed Maina, the former pension reforms chairman.
Maina, who left the country after being accused of fraud running into billions of Naira, was reportedly re-instated into the civil service allegedly by some top officials in Buhari’s government.
Vanguard reports that the lawmakers also constituted an ad-hoc committee to investigate the circumstances surrounding the ex-pension reforms boss’ recall.
The EFCC chairman, Ibrahim Magu had earlier alleged that some powerful people are protecting Maina from being arrested.
Maina Vs Pension thieves
According to the former pension boss, the allegations of fraud levelled against him, is aimed at punishing him because he exposed those he called pension thieves.

Maina described the manhunt for him as a vindictive media trial resulting from his termination of a fraud scheme involving N5.32 billion allegedly being stolen monthly in the office of the Head of Service (HoS) and Police Pension office.
He also claims that the Presidential Task Team on Pension Reforms (PTTPR), which he chaired, saved Nigeria about N282b.
