Death Toll Reaches 4,877 - WHO

The current Ebola outbreak has now claimed 4,877 lives according to the World Health Organization

The death toll of the current Ebola outbreak has now reached 4,877 according to the World Health Organization (WHO).

The WHO also said on Wednesday, October 22 that at least 9,936 cases of the disease had been recorded as of October 19.

Liberia, Sierra Leone and Guinea are the worst hit by the disease and still have insufficient medical facilities to handle the outbreak, the international body said.

The outbreak has been described as the worst ever recorded by the WHO and it has said that there are too few firm commitments of help from foreign medical teams.
