FOX has announced the premiere date for the upcoming six-episode return of 'The X-Files' series.

Fox has announced the premiere date for its upcoming six-episode comeback of 'The X-Files.'

According to the network, the show will premiere on Sunday, January 24, at 10 p.m.

Thirteen years after the original show ended, undefinedthat the six-episode event series will be directed by creator/executive producer, Chris Carter with David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson taking up their roles as FBI Agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully.

'The X-Files' originally premiered in September 1993 and remains one of the longest-running sci-fi series in network television history.
