Premiere of film gets cancelled amid threats from hackers

The New York premiere of the Sony movie 'The Interview' has been cancelled as a result of threats from the hackers.

The New York premiere of 'The Interview', a comedy about the assassination of North Korea's president, which was scheduled to premiere on Thursday, December 18 2014, has been canceled by the cinema.The cancellation is as a result of threats from the Sony entertainment hackers who call themselves 'Guardians of Peace'.

The Hackers targeting Sony Pictures had threatened to attack cinemas showing the studio's film, they also mentioned the 9/11 attacks in a recent warning note;

"Remember the 11th of September 2001. We recommend you to keep yourself distant from the places at that time.If your house is nearby, you'd better leave, whatever comes in the coming days is caused by the greed of Sony Pictures Entertainment."

On November 24, 2014, hackers disabled the computer network at California-based Sony Pictures and have been releasing some private information, some of the emails released contains embarrassing things about some top Hollywood stars like Angelina Jolie and Leonardo DiCaprio.
