During the episode, Helen, who's in the middle of her divorce with Noah, had sex with Noah's best friend Max (Josh Stamberg), and after their romp in the sheets, Max bared it all, parading around their hotel room and ordering room service.
Previously told from two perspectives, season 2 of 'The Affair' kicked off with four perspectives, adding the POVs of Helen (Maura Tierney) and Cole (Joshua Jackson).
The Golden Globe-winning Showtime drama also stars Dominic West and Ruth Wilson.
Despite a constant airing of female nudity on screen, the full-frontal male nude scene is rare on TV, which is why 'The Affair's male nude scene is a shocker to fans.
Speaking to Entertainment Weekly on his nude scene, Stamberg said;
"There was a lot of discussion. I hadn’t read the episode yet when it was mentioned. The important question to me, as a theater actor or really any actor is: what is the pertinence?
Does this move the story and why? I had a lot of qualms about how this helped and wanted to be sure it wasn’t just a gimmick or a bit.
Jeff Reiner and Sarah Treem had really good answers. I think it all plays and makes sense."
