Disney’s breaks yet another opening record in China yesterday (9 January).

With china been the second largest market in world it is the final territory in the world to receive the blockbuster.

The movie has gone grossed $29.3 million for “The Force Awakens” from 82,900 screenings on Saturday. It was also reported that the film had a cumulative in China of $31.7 million achieved from 5.18 million ticket sales.

undefined currently enjoying the fame of an average of $5.66 per ticket and average gross of $1,375 per screen from adding 3D screenings and weekend releases, making the highest for any movie currently on release in China.

Local figures also indicates “Star Wars” dominating the box office with a market share of some 71% on Saturday. Second placed film, “Detective Chinatown” earned $3.96 million ahead of “Mr Six,” with $2.34.

Starring Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Adam Driver, Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Lupita Nyong’o, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew and Max Von Sydow, the upcoming film is produced by Kathleen Kennedy, J.J. Abrams and Bryan Burk.
