Popular Bollywood actor faces possible jail time over a 2002 hit-and-run case

Popular Bollywood star, Salman Khan, faces possible jail time this week as he awaits the judgement of a court over a 2002 hit-and-run case filed against him.

Over 10 years ago, the 49-year-old  'Bodyguard' star was charged with drunkenly driving over a group of sleeping homeless people, killing one person and injuring four.

The actor is charged with 'culpable homicide not amounting to murder' and 'death by rash act'.

In defense, Salman has claimed he was not at the wheel at the time of the accident, he rather claimed his driver, Ashok Singh, was driving the Toyota Land Cruiser that ran over the victims.

The verdict which will be read tomorrow, May 6, 2015, will determine what happens next to his carrer.
