The upcoming screen adaptation will be DiCaprio's sixth time working with Scorsese. Their past works include the award winning 'The Wolf of Wall Street,' 'The Departed' 'The Aviator' and 'Gangs of New York.'
According to Deadline, Paramount Pictures has picked up the rights to the novel, to be scripted by Billy Ray.
DiCaprio will play serial killer Dr HH Holmes, who lured his victims with the 1893 World's Fair in Chicago.

The book which is based on real characters and events, is set in Chicago, circa 1893, intertwining the true tales of Daniel H. Burnham, the architect behind the 1893 World's Fair, and Dr. H. H. Holmes, the serial killer who lured his victims to their deaths in his elaborately constructed "Murder Castle."
Leonardo DiCaprio reportedly purchased the film rights in 2010.
