"Mbong got tired because I didn’t give her as much room as I should have. She is an actress, I’m a director, I insist on the kind of job she should take.

"Someone calls her from Nigeria “hey, can you fly down to Nigeria for this”? I ask for the script, and I’m like “no way”.

"Her first film was the ‘The Amazing Grace’. It went international. After going everywhere and putting Mbong in front of the kind of audience that I did, I felt she needed to do a bigger film than ‘The Amazing Grace’.

"So I kept blocking every smaller film that were offered to her."

"I’m going to answer this in a unique way, so people don’t think that I’m enjoying being a bachelor right now.

"It was a huge shock. I had never been able to fend for myself since 1995 when I started making films.

"I started making money. It was easy to have people do things for me, everything was taken care of. And for the first time, I had to cook for myself.  Yes, I have housekeepers here, I have people who can take care of me, but there are not Nigerians.

"I had to start cooking for myself and all that. It was difficult, and then seeing that Mbong and I have a daughter, and we have this perfect understand, we both take care of the daughter.

"I gave my daughter a bath for the first time after the separation. I felt like a very good father, I had to start waking up very early to prepare her for school.
