Emilia Clarke who plays Mother of Dragons on show, thinks the show proves women can have different forms of power, and still exude bravery and strength.

The popularhas always been under attack for its depiction of women, especially after last season’s controversial rape scene.

Contrary to critics who think show is sexist, Emilia Clarke who plays Mother of Dragons on show, thinks the show proves women can have different forms of power, and still exude bravery and strength.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Clarke shared her thoughts on the controversy surrounding the show’s treatment of women.

"There's so much controversy. Yet that's what's beautiful about Game of Thrones – it's depiction of women in so many different stages of development. There are women depicted as sexual tools, women who have zero rights, women who are queens but only to a man, and then there are women who are literally unstoppable and as powerful as you can possibly imagine.

So it pains me to hear people taking Thrones out of context with anti-feminist spin – because you can't do that about this show. It shows the range that happens to women, and ultimately shows women are not only equal, but have a lot of strength."

Clarke’s character, Daenerys Targarye (Mother of Dragons) was last seen in season five finale, surrounded by a swarm of Dothraki soldiers.

The fifth season of show came to an end in June 2014 with the epic death of Jon Snow. In 2015, Harrngton was spotted around Belfast, Ireland, where the HBO show films its interior scenes.
