Actor becomes new DGN president

The election which took place in Asaba, Delta state this afternoon, saw Fred emerge as the as the new president of Director's Guild.

Nollywood actor and director, Fred Amata is vying for the president of the Directors Guild of Nigeria

The position had been occupied by Andy Amenechi, before Fred joined the race to battle popular director cum producer, Lancelot Imasuen, winning in the end.

Fred, who is from the Amata clan that has become one of the synonymous families in the Nigerian movie industry, hinting that what the guild currently needs is 'a visionary leadership that can spearhead reforms and harness the collective power of the individual strengths in the guild,' is set to fill those shoes.
