Show's ratings set new TV record

AMC's much awaited spin-off series to 'The Walking Dead,' has set new record by having the biggest premiere in US cable TV history.

 

After much anticipation, AMC's anticipated spin-off of The Walking Dead, undefined  made its debut on Sunday, August 23, 2015, and it broke records.

'Fear the Walking Dead',' a companion show to The Walking Dead , opened to a record-breaking 10.1 million viewers.

Sunday's opening episode of the prequel, beat the premiere viewing figures of 'The Walking Dead', which delivered 5.35 million viewers in 2010.

'Fear the Walking Dead'  delivered 6.3 million adults in the 18-to-49 demographic.

The previous record in the same demographic was AMC's 'Better Call Saul,' which delivered  4.4 million earlier this year.

Created by Robert Kirkman, Gale Anne Hurd, Greg Nicotero and David Alpert, the show is produced by AMC Studios.

The first season of 'Fear the Walking Dead' will consist of six one-hour episodes.

'Fear the Walking Dead' stars Kim Dickens, Elizabeth Rodriguez , Mercedes Mason , Cliff Curtis, Frank Dillane and Alycia Debnam-Carey.

Season six of AMC's The Walking Dead' will return on October 11.
