Actor is fine, reveals fire incident was a publicity stunt

On Wednesday, July 27, reports surfaced that Ani Iyoho was in the hospital after a fire stunt on set went wrong.

They revealed this on Saturday, July 30, 2016 at a press conference which held at Diplomat hotel, 18 Oduduwa way off Isaac John Opposite Rumour club G.R.A Ikeja.

On Wednesday, July 27, an email was disseminated to various media houses, claiming that Ani Iyoho was in the hospital after a fire stunt went wrong on set.

“Those emails came from us. We wanted to test the waters," the director Ohikhuare said at the press conference.

A video of the fire incident was shared by Ohikhuare on his Facebook page, but deleted hours later.

Pulse Nigeria had reached out to an actress and friend of the supposed burnt actor, who said she could not "give out any information yet."

Iyoho who recently completed filming of the movie "Blurred Lines" in Ghana, had claimed he returned to Nigeria to "film the viral fire scene."

"Wrapped up on here in Accra, Ghana directed by Dickson Dzakpasu  . I'm heading to Lagos, Nigeria tomorrow to finish the hottest scene on Directed by Stanlee Ohikhuere .

"I call this wrap scene the because we will be playing with . I'm about to go down in history as probably the first Nigerian to be set on fire in a. I'm about it.

"I hope it goes well. I have a lot of faith in the artist Dorothea Kwofie . She assures me I'll be alright and she's the best SFX artist I know in Africa so I believe her. Looking forward to this."

Kelechi Udegbe who is also part of the upcoming movie, took to the comment section to express his excitement.

On Friday, July 29, 2016, Udegbe took to Instagram to announce an emergency press conference, where they revealed the happenings of the week to be a publicity stunt.

Ohikhuare is popular for movies like "Stupid Movie," "Verdict," "Common Man," "Tunnel," "Kpians: The Feast of Souls" among others.
