Nominees to be announced on Wednesday

Nominees for the 2015 edition of the prestigious AMVCAs to be announced on Wednesday.

The third edition of the prestigious Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCAs) kicks into another gear as nominees are announced on Wednesday, 10 December 2014.

The announcement will air on all Africa Magic channels at 20:30 CAT. Public voting will open immediately after the announcement and close on the 28 February 2015.

The Nominee Announcement will be hosted by popular television personalities, Nick Mutuma of Mashariki Mix and Sika Osei of53 Extra.

Regional Director, M-Net (West) Wangi Mba-Uzoukwu, said: “We are pleased to invite our viewers to tune in as we announce the nominees for the 2015 AMVCAs. We have received over 2 000 entries and this undoubtedly reflects the importance of the awards in the African film and television industry. We are all excited to know those who made the cut!”

Since the maiden edition in 2013, the AMVCAs have celebrated the contributions of African filmmakers, actors and technicians to the success of the continent’s film and television industry.

The third edition is scheduled to hold on the 7 of March, 2015. According to organisers, Viewers can expect to see more awards in new categories, ranging from acting, directing to scriptwriting and cinematography. Other categories will include editing, make-up, sound and lighting, amongst others.
