The Academy Awards aka Oscars were nominations has been announced this morning and as anticipated, “” was among the nominees.

Here’s the breakdown:

"American Hustle" and "Gravity" led the list of nominations, earning 10 noms a piece, while "12 Years a Slave" followed with nine. All three earned nominations for best picture and best director.

Tom Hanks’ "Captain Phillips," "Dallas Buyers Club" and "Nebraska," "Her,""Philomena" and "The Wolf of Wall Street" rounded out the roster of nine best picture nominees.

As far as "12 Years A Slave" is concerned … Steve McQueen, Chiwetel Egiofor and Lupita Nyong’o were nominated for best director, best lead actor and best supporting actress, respectively.

Meanwhile, the academy completely overlooked "Lee Daniels’ the Butler" along with its director and cast including Oprah Winfrey

The Academy Awards will be broadcast live on ABC on March 2 from the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood .
