1 important thing you should know about last episode of show

Just when we started accepting that "Scandal" is just a fun show with crazy twists and Machiavellian scheming here and there, Shonda decides to take us back to one of those mundane days.

I can't remember what attracted me to the Shonda Rhimes' show, but I remember the reason why I stopped being interested. Olivia went from being strong to weak. Her power was supposed to come from fixing situations and being able to reject the most powerful man in the world, not being weak and reminding viewers of a character off a mills and boons novel.

Every season of "Scandal" starts with a bang, and then gradually it becomes boring. And in an attempt to up the ante in every episode, becomes gross.

In case you haven't been following the show for a while now, here's everything you need to know.

We have moved on from the sappy Olivia/Fitz love story which kept going round and round for over four seasons. Currently in its sixth season, the show is about elections, Cyrus, Mellie and Papa Pope.

Mellie narrowly lost the election to Frankie Vargas, who was later shot thrice by a snipper on Live Television while he was about to address the nation following his win. Following Vargas' death, Fitz had the responsibility of appointing the next President of the United States of America, and he chose Cyrus. Cyrus was arrested for the murder of Vargas [thanks to Olivia and her gang].

Last night, in episode 6 of season 6, we found out that Eli Pope aka Papa Pope killed Vargas. Contrary to what most people would think, he didn't kill him so Mellie and his candidate Jack would win.

He did that because a higher organization blackmailed him into it. Yes, there's an organization higher than B16. There are questions to be answered. What is this organization that wants Mellie in the White House? Who are these people more powerful than B16 which basically held more power than the President?

It would be interesting if this organization is spearheaded by Fitz. However, this new plot, as engaging as it seems, takes viewers back to a point we thought we had left; Olivia back to wanting Eli dead.

For over four seasons, "Scandal" was about Fitz and Olivia's on and off relationship, and every time that happened, we said, "here we go again." Then we moved on to Olivia trying to kill Papa Pope.

And just when we started accepting that "Scandal" is just a fun show with crazy twists and Machiavellian scheming here and there, Shonda decides to take us back to one of those mundane days.
