In a circular posted on the CBN website on Thursday, the apex bank revealed that the decision to extend the deadline, originally set at January 31, was as a result of low number of responses from the affected banks’ customers.
The apex bank said, in the circular, that it discovered from a survey it conducted, that the low responses could be as a result of inadequate information and lack of accessibility to registration centres in some countries with large Nigerian populations.
It has therefore decided to publish detailed addresses of the BVN registration centres in their countries of residence to make it easier for them to comply with the BVN regulations.
