Need more proof of how essential an Apple device is in a tough spot, though? Take this story of a boatload of Florida fishermen who, after their craft started taking on water on rough seas on Saturday, were rescued by Siri.

According to this Fox 4 story, the group was four miles off the coast of Key Biscayne, Florida, when their ship began to sink. Apparently, one man tried call 911, but was unable to use his iPhone 7's screen because his fingers were too cold. Sgt. James Barrett of the Miami-Dade Police Department told Fox 4 that the man then used Siri to call for help. The coast guard arrived to rescue the man and his friends, and were later aided by the Miami-Dade policemen.

"They had an iPhone 7, which I'm learning today is waterproof," Barrett told the news outlet. Thank god for that, because who knows where these men would be without that feature, as well as Apple's famous talking assistant.
