Benue Governor declares Fridays as farming day
Ortom said the move will enable the workers produce food to feed their families in this period of economic hardship.

Ortom said the idea of making every Friday a work free day, is to allow civil servants in the state work on their farms.
The Governor said this after the 16th session of the state executive council meeting.
The Governor also announced that he will go on a 14 day vacation to enable him work on his farm.
The Benue state commissioner of Information, Odeh Ageh also revealed that the Deputy Governor, Benson Abounu, will act as Governor when Ortom goes on leave from Monday, June 13, 2016.
Governor Ortom also said the weekly work free day will start from Friday, June 10, 2016, and end in July 2016.
The Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom recently revealed that his country home was taken over by rampaging Fulani herdsmen.
