Former Senate majority leader, Muhammed Ali Ndume, has been placed on a six-month suspension with effect from yesterday. But the upper chamber absolved its President, Bukola Saraki and Dino Melaye of allegations of purchase of vehicle with fake documents and certificate forgery.

The Federal Government will begin payment of $5.1 billion joint venture cash calls to International Oil Companies (IoCs) from next month (April), the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Ibe Kachikwu has disclosed

‘Publicising Buhari’s medical expenses endangers national security’

The Federal Government has said it will endanger national security to make public government spending on President Muhammadu Buhari’s health. President Buhari returned to the country on March 10 after spending 49 days in London for medical treatment. The President had also traveled to London on 5th June last year for alleged treatment of ear infection.

In apparent show of economic strengthening, the Federal Government has stepped up its pricing for the nation’s debt instrument with a second tranche Eurobond issue amounting to USD500 million at a yield of 7.5 per cent, indicating a 37.5 bases points (bps) against the 7.875 per cent it pays for the original instrument of USD1.0 billion, issued in February this year.
