First Lady visits families of deceased Bayelsa women

The women, all politicians, burnt to death after the accident which occurred on Saturday, February 14, along the East-West Road in Rivers State.

Nigeria’s First Lady, Patience Jonathan has paid a condolence visit to the families of 11 Bayelsa State women who died in a car crash after visiting her in Rivers State.

The women, all politicians, burnt to death after the accident which occurred on Saturday, February 14, along the East-West Road in Rivers State.

Mrs. Jonathan, who reportedly sobbed during the visit, prayed to God to be with the family in the time of grief and asked God to give everyone, including herself, the fortitude to bear the loss while describing the women as her friends and sisters.

The First Lady was dressed in black for the visit and was accompanied by notable members of her Non-Governmental Organization (NGO), Women for Change Initiative.

Also in her entourage were Former Bayelsa State First Lady, Margaret Alamieyeseigha and former Transport Commissioner, Marie Ebikake.
