Acting President is an epitome of loyalty, modesty - Ajimobi

Ajimobi advised Osinbajo to continue to work with the president in entrenching an egalitarian society that would be the pride of the ruling All Progressives Congress.

Ajimobi paid tribute to Osinbajo in a congratulatory message signed by his Special Adviser on Communication and Strategy, Mr. Yomi Layinka, and made available to newsmen in Ibadan on Tuesday.

Ajimobi advised him to continue to work with the president in entrenching an egalitarian society that would be the pride of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Osinbajo will clock 60 years on Wednesday.

Ajimobi said that Osinbajo’s intellectual disposition to governance as well as his passion for the well-being of Nigerians was worthy of emulation.

“The Vice President has, since assumption of office, demonstrated his readiness to work assiduously with President Muhammadu Buhari in ensuring the socio-economic transformation of Nigeria through good policies and programmes.

“His unflinching support for the president’s anti-corruption fight has also helped in sanitising the polity and ensuring judicious utilization of the available resources for the betterment of the generality of Nigerians.’’

He commended Osinbajo’s visits to the Niger Delta region and constant dialogue with the militants.

The governor noted that the visits had led to the restoration of peace to the restive region, thereby boosting oil exploration activities and improving the nation’s economy.

“Though the president is away in the UK on vacation, Osinbajo has risen to the occasion, while still maintaining regular contact with his boss in the running of the nation’s affairs.’’

The governor congratulated the Vice President on joining the sexagenarian club, urging him not to rest on his laurels.
