Twitter suspends militants' account over violent tweets

On Sunday, July 3 2016, the Niger Delta Avengers's latest attack was carried out and disseminated the dastard act via Twitter.

 

According to a report by SaharaReporters, Twitter suspended the militants’ Twitter handle following the group's incessant promotion of violent activities hampering the Nigerian oil sector.

It was further reported that the group that had boasted about carrying out several attacks on oil facilities in Delta State and Bayelsa State at different times using its twitter handle @NDAvengers.

The rule states, “you may not make threats of violence or promote violence, including threatening or promoting terrorism,”a Twitter spokesperson reportedly said.

On Sunday, July 3 2016, the Niger Delta Avengers' latest attack was carried out and disseminated the dastard act via Twitter.

Since the creation of its Twitter handle in the second quarter of 2016, the Niger Delta Avengers had been using their Twitter account to claim attacks on oil facilities and issue threats to the federal government and oil companies.

Oil firms that include Chevron, Agip, Shell and the NNPC have all suffered from the attacks on oil facilities by the Niger Delta Avengers.
