Agency seizes 568.91 kg of drugs within 2 weeks in Adamawa

Mr. Yakubu Kibo, state commander of the agency stated this during a press conference held at the command headquarters in Yola on Tuesday.
Kibo said that the development followed intensification of patrol on major highways by staff of the command in the state.
He said that on Feb. 2, his staff intercepted intercepted a J5 bus along Yola to Numan road with 418 blocks of Indian Hemp, weighing 343.9 kg, concealed in the false floor of the vehicle.
”During the search, a false floor was discovered to have been constructed inside the vehicle and after it was removed, a total of 418 blocks of Indian Hemp, weighing 343.9 kg, were found neatly concealed in the false compartment.” Kibo said.
He expressed concern that the method of concealment could also be used to transporting arms and ammunition as well as other offensive items across the length and breath of the country.
He said that a follow up operation was carried out in the house at Bachure area in Jimeta, Yola, where additional 137 blocks of the substance was found .
In the same manner, the commander stated that on Feb. 2, and 12, the command equally intercepted 47.4kg and 33.6 kg of illegal substances along Jalingo to Yola and Yola to Girei roads respectively.
He urged members of the public to support the command in it’s effort at checking the unwholesome activities of drugs traffickers.
