‘Nigeria’s legislators are dishonourable clowns,’ Ex-army boss says [VIDEO]

Former Chief of Army Staff, Alani Akinrinade says Nigeria’s lawmakers are the most dishonourable people in the world.

Senator Dino Melaye wears academic gown to Senate plenary session on Tuesday, March 28, 2017.

Akinrinade also described the lawmakers as clowns who the country can’t afford.

He made the comments on Thursday, May 4, during an interview with Sahara TV.

“My state cannot afford a governor, that is the truth of the matter. And my country cannot afford the number of the so-called people in the National Assembly. We cannot afford them. That is why they can be singing empty… Aje kun iya ni oje. Our own senator. A man representing us,” he said.

“All these clowns are there and we are saying that we should not talk about them, we should call them honourable. They are the most dishonourable people I know in the world,” he added.

Akinrinade was referring to a victory song and dance posted by Senator Dino Melaye on social media after he was cleared of allegations of certificate forgery.
