On Wednesday, May 10, the State Assembly set up an 8-member panel to probe Emir Sanusi over alleged abuse of office and improper conduct, among other allegations.
The assembly's move followed a step taken by the state's anti-corruption agency to investigate the Emir.
The agency said it was probing allegations of financial impropriety running into billions of naira leveled against Sanusi.
But at plenary, Rep Aliyu Sani Madaki - APC, Kano - raised a point of order, calling on the House to intervene in the matter.
Madaki said the probe might throw the entire Kano State into crisis.
