MASSOB religious administrator, Rev. Apostle Ezichukwu, made the pledge on Monday in Onitsha while speaking with newsmen.

He promised that during the procession, participants would not harass anybody or disrupt peoples business and urged the government not to use its security operatives to disrupt the event.

He said that the struggle of Chief Ralph Uwazuilke-led MASSOB, now called Biafra Independent Movement (BIM) did not encourage violence.

“We have warned members against violent behaviour.

“The procession will be peaceful and there will be no sit-at-home,” he said.

Ezichukwu expressed satisfaction that the South-East had realised why Uwazuruike vowed peaceful continuation of the struggle, adding that the group was working toward non-violence self-determination for the people.

“We have been marginalised for years in a country we believed we helped to build and should be part and of.

“MASSOB faithfuls are in a two-day prayer to ensure free celebration,” he said.
