FG distributes Sallah gifts to Boko Haram victims

The National Emergency Management Agency and the Presidential Initiative on the North East (PINE) are set to put smiles in the faces of internally displayed people in Borno state.

The distribution exercise, which is spearheaded by PINE, will give foodstuffs to 63,308 households in over 35 communities of Borno and Bauchi states.

Speaking to newsmen, the Secretary of the Presidential Initiative on the North East (PINE), Alhaji Umar Gulani, said “The Federal Government is willing to alleviate the plight of those affected by the insurgency in the North-East with all the possible machinery available.”

Gulani also said  “We, in partnership with NEMA and the Red Cross, are reaching out to the targeted beneficiaries, who have not only been displaced but affected. They lack food because they have not been able to farm this year.”

The Director General of the National Emergency Management Agency, Alhaji Sani Sidi, also hinted that the distribution of clothes to the displaced victims has begun.

Gulani added that this recent initiative, is a follow-up to the previous initiatives it has embarked upon.
