Woman in court for allegedly assaulting friend

43-year-old woman appeared before a Badagry Chief Magistrates’ Court for allegedly punching her friend.

Man gets 1 month jail term.

Salau, whose address is unknown, is facing a charge of assault.

The Prosecutor, Insp. Akpan Ikem, told the court that the accused committed the offence on March 11, at Idewu Estate, in Badagry area of Lagos State.

He said that the accused beat the complainant following an argument between them.

“She beat the complainant by rendering several blows on her head and also slapped her multiple times on the cheeks,” Ikem said.

He said that the offence contravened Section 170 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.

The accused pleaded not guilty to the charge.

The Magistrate, Mr Jimoh Adefioye, granted bail to the accused in the sum of N100,000 and two sureties in the like sum.

He adjourned the case till March 29 for further hearing.
