The Director, Lagos State Fire Service, Mr Rasak Fadipe, made the disclosure to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) while giving an update on the organisations activities.

He said the three persons were caught up in the inferno while trying to escape from the bus, stressing that one other person, however, escaped with high degree of burn.

"It is likely they were involved in petroleum bunkering in Ikorodu area. The driver lost control and hit a stationary truck.

"The driver tried to swerve to the other side and the vehicle ran into the gutter, spilling the contents of the jerry cans which resulted to fire.

"It took my men about an hour to put out the fire in the gutter and the vehicle.

"The driver was one of those roasted to death in the bus,’’ Fadipe said.
