EFCC Agency takes 2 whistleblowers to court for giving false information

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arraigned two whistleblowers for giving it false information.

The suspects, Buhari Fannami and Ba-Kura Abdullahi were charged at the Federal High Court in Maiduguri, Borno State on Tuesday, May 16.

The EFCC accused Fannami and Abdullahi of sharing false information about a large sum of money supposedly buried at the residence of one Ba’a Lawan.

The agency discovered the information was false after obtaining a search warrant and searching the house.

The details were disclosed by the EFCC, via a statement released by its spokesman, Wilson Uwujaren.

Presiding judge, Justice M. T Salihu ordered that the accused be remanded in prison custody till June 7 and 8, 2017 when the case will come up for further hearing.
