DSS arrests former NSA

Dasuki was reportedly arrested today, December 1, 2015, by agents of the Department of State Service (DSS).

 

Former National Security Adviser, Colonel Sambo Dasuki has reportedly been arrested by the Department of State Service (DSS).

According to Sahara Reporters, Dasuki was arrested today, December 1, 2015, by agents of the DSS.

“Operatives of Department of State Service (DSS) this morning arrested ex-National Security Adviser, Colonel Sambo Dasuki (rtd),” Sahara Reporters wrote on Twitter.

Dasuki is facing charges of money laundering and illegal possession of weapons before an Abuja court.

The former NSA has also been accused of looting about N337 billion in funds meant for the procurement of arms for Nigeria’s military.

President Muhammadu Buhari had ordered the arrest of Dasukiand other persons indicted in connection to the alleged fraud following a report submitted by a probe panel instituted by him.

Meanwhile, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has also arrested 20 officials who worked with the former NSA during his tenure.
