News of the withdrawal was reported by Sahara Reporters via Twitter:
“BREAKING: Ethics Committee of @NGRSenate has called off the summon extended to the chairman of the Code of Conduct Tribunal Danladi Umar,” the online platform wrote.
The upper legislative chamber has been severely criticized for summoning Umar, a move believed to be connected to Senate President, Bukola Saraki’s trial before the CCT.
Saraki is facing trial on charges of asset declaration fraud which were brought against him by the Code of Conduct Bureau(CCB) in 2015.
