Freed schoolgirls to undergo surgery - Minister

The minister also told newsmen that the girls are undergoing medical treatments that will last 7 days.

Minister of Women Affairs and Social Development, Jummai AlHassan has revealed that the 82 Chibok girls, recently released, will undergo surgery.

According to Daily Post, AlHassan said various tests carried out on the girls have shown that they need to be operated upon.

She said “The 82 Chibok girls are currently undergoing medical screening in Abuja.

“Some of them need surgery; this should be completed in two to three weeks.”

The Federal Government had earlier donated drugs and other personal items for the upkeep of the girls.

According to reports, the Chibok girls will soon be re-united with their families soon.

AlHassan said this at a news conference in Abuja on Thursday, May 11, 2017.
