6 military choppers dispatched to pick 82 released girls

According to the report, the officials and the recently released girls left Maiduguri air force base as early on Sunday, April 7, 2017 at about 5am to the southeastern town in Borno state.

A top military source reportedly said that the choppers would be used to bring the girls to Maiduguri air force base.

The source further said screening and evacuation of the girls is ongoing under the supervision of some non-governmental organisations that have helped in the negotiation process.

It was further reported that the girls are expected to arrive Maiduguri before noon after which they are also expected to be received by top Borno state government officials.
