President orders police to rescue Falae

Falae, a former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, was abducted from his farm in Ondo State on Monday, September 21, 2015.

 

President Muhammadu Buhari has ordered the Inspector-General of Police, Solomon Arase and other security agencies to ensure the speedy rescue of Chief Olu Falae from his kidnappers.

Buhari gave the directive on Wednesday, 23, via a statement released by his media aide, Femi Adesina.

The President also assured Chief Falae’s family, friends and other concerned Nigerians that the Federal Government will do all within its powers to ensure his swift release.

Former Aviation Minister, Femi Fani-Kayode had responded to Falae’s abduction with a threat against the Federal Governmentsaying that there would be consequences to face if anything happened to the elder statesman.

The former SGF’s kidnappers initially demanded a ransom of N100 million for his release but have now reduced the sum to N90 million.
