Bomb blast rocks Biu in Borno

The triple blasts went off at the Yamarkumi area of Biu at about 12:50 pm on Tuesday, February 17.

An explosion has occurred in Biu Town in Borno State, residents say.

The triple blasts went off at the Yamarkumi area of Biu at about 12:50 pm on Tuesday, February 17, Premium Times reports.

"There were three bomb explosions now in Biu at Yamarkumi along Maiduguri road. We are trying to get to the place now. It occurred just about ten minutes ago. Ambulances and security operatives are all rushing to the spot,” a witness said.

Biu also came under attack on February 12, when a suicide bomber killed 8 persons and left 40 others injured in a crowded market.
