Adesina’s remark comes in confirmation of a similar comment recently made by Governor Kashim Shettima who said that the military had recorded success in its war against the sect.
“Not one of the 27 local government areas of Borno State is dominated by the Boko Haram sect. Senator Garbai’s claim has been debunked by the Borno State Government,” Adesina said during an interview with Channels TV on Monday, February 8, 2016.
“I think the state governor’s information is superior to that of the senator. The state has superior information than him,” he added.
Both Adesina and Shettima spoke in reaction to a comment made by Senator Kaka Garbai that the sect was still in control of 50% of the state
Garbai is the representative of the Borno Central Senatorial District.
