The town of Mora is on a shared border with Nigeria and as such has been subject to attacks from the sect which operates largely from Northeastern Nigeria.

Cameroonian forces have intensified efforts against the terrorists and recently conducted unprecedented air strikes to recover control of military barracks which had been overrun by the sect.
