The Nigerian Army on Wednesday said it had arrested three suspected Boko Haram terrorists at the cattle market, Maiduguri.

The Army spokesman, Col. Sani Usman, said this in a statement issued in Abuja.

Usman said the insurgents, Abba Go Dallagio, Abba Fanned and Alhaji Nwariye, were arrested with the assistance of the Civilian JTF on Wednesday.

“During preliminary investigation, the suspects claimed that they entered Maiduguri through Mafa with about 200 cows for sale at Maiduguri cattle market.

“They said the proceeds are remitted to the terrorists to fund their nefarious activities.

“So far, troops have identified 23 of the 170 cows isolated in connection with the arrested agent at the market.”
