105 soldiers reportedly missing after fight with terrorists

About 105 Nigerians soldiers have gone missing after a battle with Boko Haram terrorists, reports say.

The troops, who were attached to the 157 Battalion, are said to have disappeared after fierce gun-fight in Gudunbali, Borno State on Wednesday, November 18, 2015, Premium Times reports.

“Gudunbali was attacked this morning and some weapons were captured from the battalion. Two officers and 105 soldiers are still missing,” a source said.

“They captured a T-72 tank from the unit and some artillery weapons were also captured. The commanding Officer (CO) of the battalion is yet to be seen but no one has been confirmed dead yet,” the source added.

The alleged disappearance of the soldiers is yet to be confirmed by official military sources.

Meanwhile, the military has captured two Boko Haram kingpins after releasing names and photos of 100 terrorists and declaring them wanted.
