EFCC arrests ex-minister over missing billions of naira in connection to Dasuki

Yuguda is being interrogated for alleged misappropriation of public funds running into billions of naira while he was in office, report said.

 

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has reportedly arrested a former Minister of State,  Ambassador Bashir Yuguda, who served under former president, Goodluck Jonathan.

It was gathered the ex-minister, who was said to have been picked up by the anti-graft agency around 4pm on Monday, Nov. 30, received huge sums of money from the office of the embattled former National Security Adviser, Colonel Sambo Dasuki.

Some of the funds traced to Yuguda's account include; N1.2 billion Naira paid to him by the office of the NSA through a company and for unclear reasons, N775 million from the office of the Accountant General of the Federation for unclear reasons and N1.275 billion from a conglomerate, Stallion Group, during the last presidential election campaign.

He allegedly received the monies between December 2014 and May 2015.
