Adefuye is said to have passed away on Thursday, August 27, 2015, in Washington DC, according to Sahara Reporters.
He was appointed to the position in 2010 by former President Goodluck Jonathan and will be remembered for his campaign to end Nigeria’s classification as “a country of interest” in the American terrorism watch list.
Adefuye was recalled to Nigeria after President Muhammadu Buhari became President and was still waiting to hand over to a new ambassador before his sudden death.
