Full Specifications Of The New Apple iMac With Retina Display

Apple has unveiled its new iMac computer with Retina Display, and its unlike anything we've seen before.

On Thursday, Apple announced their new Apple iMac with Retina Display, and now we have the full specifications on Apple's latest flagship Mac.

The new Apple iMac with Retina Display comes with some impressive specifications, the display on the device has a massive resolution of 5120 x 2880 pixels and according to Apple, this is the ‘world’s highest resolution display’, with a massive 14.7 million pixels.

The entry level model comes with a 3.5Ghz quad core Intel Core i5 processor with Turbo Boost up to 3.9GHZ, you can also choose a 4.0GHz quad core Intel Core i7 processor with Turbo Boost up to 4.4Ghz.

Also, the new Retina iMac comes with 8GB of RAM as standard, this can be upgraded to a total of 32GB, which comes at a premium, and there are a number of storage options.

The standard configuration comes with a 1TB Fusion Drive, this can either be upgraded to a 3TB Fusion Drive, or you can go for pure flash storage with a choice of 256GB, 512GB and 1TB options.

For graphics the Apple iMac with Retina Display comes with a choice of either an AMD Radeon R9 M290X 2GB GDDR5 graphics card or an AMD Radeon R9 M295x GDDR5 + graphics card.

Prices for the new Apple iMac with Retina Display start at $2,499 in the U.S. and £1,999 in the UK, if you go for the top model, with all of the options then it is going to set you back $4,399 in the U.S. and £3,519 in the UK.

Apple's new Retina iMac is being sold alongside standard resolution iMac's which are available in a 27 inch model and a 21.5 inch model.
