Was The Anticipated Event A Good Outing?

This year's annual pink ball held on 18th October at the Dorchester, from the choice of venue to the theme of the pink ball, we had an inkling that it would be a grand affair s with each year. Incidentally this event was the first biggest event to hold at Dorchester-a newly opened event centre, owned by Ibidunni Ighodalo.

Devoid of the usual expected 'red carpet' (I think that was taken out so it wont clash with the fabulous colours and styles of the guests- a pink carpet would have been unexpected and breathtaking, No?)

At the entrance, pretty hostesses in different shades of pink welcomed guests into the venue where you are immediately under the spotlight with camera clicking away in your face- more like Hollywood styled red carpet entrance, from there the 'picture loving' guests would then move on to the larger space with a pink backdrop/drapes to take all the photos they wanted. This was the most exciting time for people because a few guests spent almost the entire nights taking photos- they wouldn't allow their pretty dresses go to waste (we understand)

Truth be told, almost everyone got their best style game on, for the best part there was a lot of pretty pink dresses and the others in came out in other colours were equally stunning, make up looks were perfect, it almost looked as if everyone planed their facebeat.

The event started around 8:30pm, the ball started off in full swing with guests escorted to their already booed tables by the pretty hostesses in pink. The venue of the pink ball was set in a dreamy theme with each table carefully set for the 3 course meal that was in place for the night, every detail on each table was set impeccably with souvenirs already pre-packed on each seat for guests.

The performances were impressive, Omawumi, Seyi Shay and more had the atmosphere cool and lively to the showcase where celebrities like Eku Edewor, Toolz, Fade Ogunro, Seyi Shay, Rita Dominic, Osas Ighodaro and Cris Attoh, Lynxxx, MAi Atafo himself, DJ Xclusive and Julius Agwu who modelled pieces designed exclusively for the pink ball by Lanre Da Silva and Mai Atafo.

The quality of the guests who attended, the set up, venue and the whole event was well planned and definitely to notch. The theme was appropriate and did people dress to their nines, oh yeah! We noted a dip though in the turn out as all tables weren't filled but that could be because a lot of celebrities shuttled between the pink ball and the NMAs that held the same night.

The highest point of the show had to be Flavour's performance,he got every single lady on their feet dancing, also the master performer he served dance steps with his signature waist whine that sent the ladies into a frenzy.

In the the event turned out to be great afterall. We hope the Genevieve Pink Ball was able to raise enough money for charity as planned, otherwise everyone had a fantastic time in the end. We can only look forward to the 2015 Pink Ball. Good work Aunty Betty and team!
