Bio

Born Stella Ojukwu on the 24 of April 1978 is an award winning Nigerian actress and singer. She was born in Asaba, Delta state to parents who were bankers and five siblings. Stella graduated from the University of Lagos, obtaining a degree in Theatre Arts. Her first break into the movie industry was in 1992 when she starred in the movie ‘Abused’.

Best Known For : The singer turned actress has to date featured in over fifty films and has gotten awards and recognition for her skills such as Best Actress at the African Movie Academy Awards. Stella is a member of a gospel group in Abuja called One Heart One sound. She also is the founder of two organizations, Stella Damasus Arts Foundation; an organization set up to provide economic, intellectual and emotional support to the society, using the Arts as its primary tool and Adiva, a mentorship program that helps women and young girls unlock their potentials. Stella other projects and interests besides acting, she launched her hair line called ‘Adiva Hair’ in 2013 and her own web series called Mix Match.

Stella was married to Jaiye Aboderin, son of the owner of Punch Newspaper for 7years until he passed away leaving her widowed and caring for their two daughters, Angelic and Isabel. She has wedded twice on a low-key after the death of her first husband, first to Daniel Ademinokan and more recently Emeka Nzeribe.
