2 months old baby dumped in refuse site rescued by NSCDC in Rivers

A two-months old baby who was dumped in a refuse site by its mother was lucky to be rescued by officials of the NSCDC.

The lucky baby is now alive and kicking

According to the report, the little infant was picked when the operatives were on a patrol along the New Elelenwo Manifold in Akpajo, Eleme Local Government Area of the state, when they saw the baby tucked inside a carton of noodles and placed in the refuse dump,  on Friday, July 15, July 2016.

The statement adds that though the baby who was in a critical condition at the time it was rescued due to the rain and bad weather it had been exposed to, she was doing well after the officials rushed her to a hospital where she was given prompt and adequate medical attention.

The State Commandant of the NSCDC, HelenAmakiri, said the baby will be handed over to the Social Welfare Department of the Ministry of Women Affairs.
